Is Law of Attraction Magick?
My answer is definitely, unequivocally…yes and no.
Okay so what’s the distinction?
Well, the law of attraction is basically magick without the candles and herbs and other elements of nature.
But you do need the Law of Attraction, as it’s required for magic to work.
So whaddya mean, Aunt Carla?
First, let me define the law of attraction.
What Is The Law of Attraction?
The Law of Attraction is the ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on.
Think of yourself as this giant human magnet with the power to attract by thought, word, and deed.
One of the concepts within the Law of Attraction is that “thoughts are things”. The Law of Attraction emphasizes the power of the mind to convert whatever is in our thoughts and materialize them into reality.
Author Napoleon Hill wrote “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve. Look around your space right now. Whether it is your computer, or a chair, or art on the walls, before it existed in real life, it was an idea, a thought that existed in someone’s mind.
When we seek to manifest something, we first have an idea, the thought is where it all begins.
Our thoughts are then made stronger by adding emotions, such as happiness, joy, and gratitude. So when we think about our particular dream, see it in our mind’s eye, and ramp up our excitement about it, we get into alignment with it, even before it arrives.
Law of Attraction Tools
Affirmations are short statements that are repeated over and over to lift their vibration.
Vision boards are visual representations of your goals. They can be a poster that you display on your wall, pictures that you keep in a sketch book, or even on your computer on your desktop wallpaper, or on a website such as Pinterest.
Scripting is keeping a journal to write, not about the way things are, but the way you want them to be.
You may have noticed that most of these Law of Attraction methods use repetition. Our subconscious mind holds our memories and self-limiting beliefs, which often keep us stuck. But when we choose to continually focus on the ideas of possibility, those thoughts begin to affect our subconscious mind, which brings this reality closer.
So What Is Magick?
Magick involves creating rituals or ceremonies in which we make an official request, spiritually, for our desired outcome. During these rituals, we harness the forces of natural elements to influence events.
The philosopher Aristotle believed that most things on Earth have been created by some combinations of the elements earth, air, fire, and water. These elements have magickal associations that can be manipulated to manifest desired outcomes. The final element is spirit, represents by our human soul. By the way, all of these elements are also present within the human body.
I like to think of these elements as batteries that power our spells. When we acknowledge the power of the natural elements, we are able to influence things to our will.
The candle symbolically represents your desired outcome. As the candle burns and melts, your wish goes into the astral plane, to add energy toward its manifestation.
Many rituals and spells incorporate herbs, and they have magickal correspondences. For example, you can use rose to attract love.
Like herbs, crystals are believed to have magickal properties. They amplify and vibrate with different frequencies that affect our personal energetic fields.
So which method of manifesting is best? Magick or Law of Attraction?
That is a personal choice.
On one hand, you can manifest the things you desire using the Law of Attraction, but magick makes things move faster. This is because you are harnessing the energies of nature.
If you are in the broom closet, and unable to perform magick the way you like, you may use Law of Attraction methods, as they are mainstream, and less likely to raise alarms. But I like to think that Law of Attraction is a magick of its own. But shhh! We won’t tell anyone.
On the other hand, you can’t perform magic without the Law of Attraction because your mind needs to be in alignment with what you desire.
You may decide on a favorite method of manifesting, or you may like switch things up.
The most important thing to remember is that the power to live your best life is within you. You are not at the mercy of fate.
Go manifest something!
